i might actually get new heads sooner then i thought
summit has dart iron eagle 170cc 400 small block heads for 520 for a set
but with that ill be getting a 400 crank and bore it .030 to make it a 383 for 264
thatll bring my tab to almost 2 grand
its a work in progress and itll take time to do
ill start small first and work my way up
and i will keep posted with lots of pics
i cant wait till i get this truck and i turn 16
this should be one bad truck
this is what ive saved 9 grand of lawn mowing money for lol

I have Hooker Headers on their way from Summit. I was going to get the Hedman Hedders, but changed my mind, because everything I have read says they don't fit; I even called Hedman and talked to a guy there for an hour about headers. If you go to Hedman's site, and search for headers for a 1990 Chevy C1500 with a SBC, you will notice they took that header off the results page. I pointed out to the guy that they recommend them as fitting. He said that particular header is for the trucks with an offset motor. I have never seen a Chevy with an offset motor. Anyone here ever see one?
Does anyone know, for sure by experience, whether those Hedman (69440) fits the OBS centered motor trucks?

I was going to suggest those heads, they are the same as I have.
