4.8 Engine

I looking to buy a Chevy or GMC pickup. What can you tell me about the 4.8 engine. Is this a realible engine? I looking at reg.cab long bed 4X4 is this enough engine.

Just Changed Oil & Now it says "Engine Oil Low" "AD ENGINE OIL" but its full!?
