Default 4.8 L engine upgrade
I have a 99 chevy silverado, 4x4, tired 4.8 liter v8, 4L60E tranny. Want to upgrade the engine, told it is a real problem because of the computer and harness. Anybody have a suggestion for a performance upgrade, not afraid of a computer change and/or wiring harness change. Anyone know where to get the hardware or supplier suggestion? HELP!

A year appropriate 5.3L will drop in and wire up, the only change you will need is software recalibrations for the ECM/TCM so the 5.3L operates properly.

they will bolt up the same as long as they are the same years, but you need to get a new computer or have the computer re-programmed to run the 5.3 correctly
