Default 454 swap new to chevy

I just got into the truck world, im 18 years old, so im very new at these things. Ok so i bought an 89' short box single cab 1500 with no motor. it has everything in the bay (ac, wires, cc, mounts, etc) and tranny. i believe it had the original engine, and the truck says EFI on tailgate.

So now, I might get a good deal on a 454 bb off a 1973 cheyenne flatbed (again idk if its the original) from my work that we no longer use. the engine was rebuilt and they hardly drove it after that. the truck runs good, so im planning on going that route since everything will be there that i need for the swap (i'd have to buy the whole truck) instead of buying a 350 and then spending time going around looking for misc. parts to complete the swap.
Now im jw, since my truck was injected(not 100% positive), will i need to swap out the ecu for the 454 carb. motor? how much of a hassle do you think this will be? if it even fits at all lol is it even worth it. im really considering buying that flatbed bc everything is there that i thot would be an easy swap, and for an extremely cheap price. if i forgot to mention important notes, please let me know. thanks

how do i check if the engine on the 454 is the original so i can know miles roughly, and is there a code on the ecu that i can determine if its for injected engines on my 89'???

Miles are irrelevant. It is in a 40 year old truck. All you care about is oil pressure and compression.

If you take the motor you have to take the tranny also. It will fit easily. A 454 would have a TH400 tranny. A 89 350 would have a 700r4 or 4L60. It is definitely a carbed engine and there is no computer.

so i should be able to swap it in with no major problems?, i.e. no conversion kit and re-routing things.
