I have a 2000 gmc k1500 5.3l vortec 4x4. Does anyone know if i can swap the tranny from a 02 zr2 blazer with a 4.3 Vortec. They are both 4l60e's, but im not sure if they are actually the same. Thanks for any help in advance.

 

I tried swapping a 02 Silverado tranny into a 03. it just doesnt work. not to mention if a 4l60e is run on a smaller motor its life, then moved to a bigger one it tends to explode. idk why but ive heard the low power ones dont have the heavier duty clutches and such. to be successful, you must switch out with a tranny that was mated to the same motor in the same year. I have seen people take 2003 Chevy trailblazer trannies and switch them into their silverado or tahoe.. but the years and engine MUST Match
