Exclamation 4l80e

Hello-

I have a '92 K3500 I am trying to get back on the road..
I had a rebuild transmission install (Tstar out f Denver, seemed reputable) and it lasted just over a year (about 8-10K miles on it) before the reverse went out....slipped a little then nothing. The warranty expired so I am on my own.....

To debug I dropped the pan, valve body and pulled the rear servo and adjusted the apply pin length to ~0.08" clearance.
Put it back together and now have forward motion in all gears including reverse and neutral........

I reused the valve body gasket and thought all the check ***** were located correctly......

Trying to figure out what went wrong......
It seemed like a simple job, but obviously something is not right.....

I am thinking I will drop the pan and valve body again and investigate next weekend, but what to look for or test specifically??

Really need to get this truck back on the road and any help appreciated!

So what is the problem you’re having with it now? You said you got your gears back but now something isn’t right - is it shifting hard? Stuck in limp mode? Other?

You’re probably going to need to Start with oil pressure testing, but the specific problem will determine what you’re looking for.

I went ahead and dropped the pan, valve body again and then, rebuilt the reverse servo, replaced the 1-2 servo assembly, replaced the pressure switch, check ***** springs, gaskets, seals ect....buttoned it up and now everything works as it should....!
