Is my engine a LY5 or a LMG generation 4? I just bought a 2007 silverado ext. cab Z71 4x4 with the 5.3 but the dealer was no help in identifing the motor just selling the truck. Go figure! All I know is the block is iron with aluminum heads and they all have the AFM but the LMG has both flex fuel and AFM. So how do you tell the differance! PM me your vin and I can check or, I beleive if its flex fuel it will say on the tailgate, and the gas cap will be yellow and say E85 on it.....at least hte avalanches do, we dont bring trucks in with Flex fuel...
