5 speed issues
Hi All,
I have a 96 k1500 4.3 5 speed manual trans with a little more than 60,000 on the power train. Just yesterday after about 4 hours of highway driving, it became difficult to shift gears.
I pulled over and went through all of the gears while it was off to see if the linkage was messed up. That was ok.
When I started the truck again, I had the clutch all the way down and the tranny in 1st it started but it moved the truck a bit and made a few chirping sounds.
This morning the truck started no problems but after about 15 minutes of driving, it was still able to shift in and out of gears but from a stop, I could hear the chirping again while in first.
Low fluid, clutch line issues, clutch????
I’m not sure what’s causing it… anyone have any ideas/ have had it happen to them?
