Default 71 vs standard 4 x 4 suspension

What are the differences in suspension of these models?

What would it take to change the Z71 suspension to a standard 4 x 4?

The only mechanical difference between the Z71 and standard setups are limited-slip differentials and alloy wheels with more aggressive tires more suitable for off-road use. The suspension is unchanged. The rest of the package consists of protection/appearance items, such as skid plates, step bars, grill guard, and the like.you also get a cool sticker for the end of the bed with this package, maybe high capacity air cleaner..there is probably more...

what truck are you refering to?

I bought it used last a few months ago with 42K. I don't know that I'll change it, but curious if I'd get a little better ride.

what's wrong with the ride...stiff?....spongy? is it lifted? or do you know if the torsion bars have been cranked up some?

Everything is stock Z71 from what I can tell. The main part of the ride I don't care for is the spongy reaction to a dip or rise in the rode. I get that spongy after effect. Rough roads are really rough in my truck as well. I assume these are characteristic of off-road type shocks.

I do realize this is a truck and I'm not wanting a caddy ride.

well the spongy affect could be time for some better shocks all the way around,,,maybe airsprings in the rear?the rolling into and out of turns is questionable.do you know what the previous owner used the truck for?

my 07 with plenty of garbage under her still rides like a caddy....well maybe not a new caddy..

have any pics of that z71?.....

Previous owner used it as a grocery getter but hauled a small camper south for 2 seasons.
