8.1/Allison Questions
So, we just picked up an 01 2500 with the 8.1 and Allison combo. Being a former Ford guy, I have a question about this truck.
I've been driving it around feeling like it's "heavy"... Almost like something is dragging. Like maybe the brakes are hanging up. I brought it into the shop and all seems to be free...
After driving it tonight, it seems like the transmission is gearing it down. Almost like it's hanging in a low gear. It just seems like it takes alot of skinny pedal to move the truck empty...
I might also mention that the Trans makes a whining noise like a bad alternator. It seems to quiet down a little when it warms up.
Does this seem normal for this combo, or should I start digging more?
