88 silverado stalling problem
I have an 88 chevy silverado K1500 350 5 speed Z71 that has been in the family for about 13 years and has 220,000 miles on it and still goes strong. It was not driven for about 6 months and while it sat it developed a stalling problem. I have been driving it for about 4 months and have changed the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, thoroughly cleaned the injectors, and blocked off the EGR valve, and changed the air idle motor. The truck does not idle rough, but shuts off after idling for about 5 mins without a load on the engine, and shuts off almost immediately as soon as headlights or the a/c is turned on.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Corey

Well I'm no car mech but I do work on motorcycles and so on. Sounds likea bad gound wire, cause of when you turn on a large load like headlights or a/c. May try using jumper cables and just use the negative to go from the motor to the battery and try it and the battery and good cleaned frame ground.
You might want to consider the ignition module and the coil. either could be heating up and shorting out.
some other things to check would be fuel pressure and the fuel filter.
TBI motors need 14 psi of fuel pressure.
