Default 91 4.3L starts & dies no codes

i have a 91 k1500 4.3l showing no codes 12 flashes constant which to me means no codes present ? will start immed after it dies run for 3-5 seconds then pukes out will run with spraying gas in throttle body 160k on this thing -- fuel pump ? which i can hear running for a sec or two when key is turned on !! wouldnt a ign module act up like this ? and show code ? i am suspecting fuel pump ? am i wrong please help

could be ignition mod, coil, fuel pump relay, pump itself. ign mod and coil may not trip a code on the obd1 systems, which your rig has. if it will keep running by spraying down the throttle body, then i suspect the fuel relay or pump. or maybe the oil pressure unit, as this is tied into the ignition system. no oil pressure = no fire.

i'll bet money on sensor real common on OBD1 systems

The Crank Position Sensor doesn't kick up an OBD code...
