Default 93 1500 cat pronlem

hi guys. i was going on a drive to get a snowmobile when after about 80-90 miles in i pull onto highway and start hearing loud roar from under truck. so i pull over and notice its just when throttle was applied. anywho, i crawled under truck today and a plug or something has broken kinda. will upload pics soon. any things i should watch out for that might be bad in long run and whats the best way to fix this? btw, its a 350 tbi. and it was slushy out so im thinking it was hot then got hit with the slush and caused rapid cooling causing it to crack. any ideas?

I'd strap a new converter on and be done with it. They're not all that expensive.

As usual just my 2¢,

I would recommend not driving it till you truly know what that hole leads to. If you do drive on it you risk doing bigger engine damage. Do you know if you got any check engine lights or see any leaks or that? Yes more pictures would greatly help too.

The plug seals the hole where the catalyst beads were loaded from the manufacturing process. With it missing, you have not only a converter that cannot do it's job due to the missing catalyst, but also a LOUD exhaust.

Contrary to some belief, it does not harm the engine in any way to drive it this way, because on a '93 model, this is nothing more than a downstream exhaust issue.
