Default 95 Silverado loss of power

Hey everybody. So Ive been having this problem with my truck, when i release the gas pedal at low speeds I hear a kind of sputtering sound like if the truck is struggling and about to shut down. It starts happening after a couple of minutes of driving around. A couple times I lost power when taking off from a dead stop at a red light. It turned on right after.

So i changed the spark plugs, but not the wires and same problems happened. So i changed the distributor and that day I started losing power whenever i took off from a dead stop. Put a new fuel filter in today and it seems so far to have fixed it the constant loss of power taking off from a stop. But Im not 100% sure it wont come back.

I took it to a midas down the street to get a diagnosis. They told me I need a new carburetor because it is old dirty and leaking. So only because I've always been taught to not trust a place like Midas, I've been researching like crazy. I was hoping some one here can give me their two cents or if anyone has had similar problems .

Thanks

Ok just in case someone has the same problems i was talking about here. It turned out to be my EGR valve, Knock sensor, and the ignition module. Took a lot of researching and testing but so far those seem to be what was holding me back.

Thanks for letting us know the fix. It's a 95 and Midas said it was a bad carburetor?

Wow, that is a couple different avenues of problems that must have slowly went wrong. At least you are up and running now.
