All of the sudden the other day I get in my truck and start driving and it seems as if I have lost my power brakes. I have to press extremely hard on the pedal to get the brakes to engage.

While pressing in the pedal I can hear a loud wind noise coming from it like air is leaking out or something.

Also, if I come to a stop at a red light, it seems as if my truck wants to die as if it is running out of gas. This starting happening at the same time the brake issue came up.

Any ideas?? Thanks!

 

I would be willing to bet that the vac booster hose has come off or broken. Look at the big round thing (brake booster) behind the master cylinder, there should be a large vac hose going to it. If it is disconnected it would cause all of your problems.
