95 Transmission question
First of all i just wanted to say hi to everyone for i'm new to this site. I think this is a great chevy site. Now my questions are this: first i have a 95 2500 ext cab 4x4 with the 4L80E transmission in it. The problem with it is that in all forward gears when i step on the gas it feels like power isn't getting to the rear because i only go forward at a slow speed. If i put it in reverse the truck goes back normal. Can some one tell me what they think is going on with this, and question 2 is it possible to swap a 400 turbo for the 4L80E. Would it be possible to hook up the wiring for the computer on the 400.
I have a 95 reg. cab 3/4 ton with the 4L80e as well. About the gears, the stock transmission for a silverado was not built for speed. Reverse is somewhat high, hence the reason it seems like the power is not there in forward gears and reverse has power. It's hard to tell what's going on with your tranny, but I hope that that's the reason.
As for the th400, you couldn't hook up a 400 to the computer if it's stock. I believe they make adapters and things, but believe me, the overdrive is nice to have and the 4L80e is a great tranny.
