Default 96 Diesel Dually, 130,000 km (80,000 M) headlight issue

I know first post, but man I need help guys. I still have this old girl cause as in the title low miles and I have a company truck so I want to keep it, it is clean still, no rust, runs like a champ, gutless but whatever. So I just returned from Alaska and my high beams kept cutting out every 20 mins or so.

Before we left I knew something was up so searching and speaking to anyone I could I replaced the multi function switch, chore, the dash switch and talked about the flipping DSL diode. Never jumped the diode as most indicators pointed to either of the switches.

I should state that the drl haven't worked for years, so today I jumped the Drl diode and POOF on come the drl's, but the hi beams went out again after 10 min or so and I'm sitting in here writing this and waiting for them to go out again' WTF??

Could the failed diode be causing this crap? Sorry for the long post I'm friggin ready to buy a Dodge,,,,,sorry for cuss in' on here and thanks for any help guy's and gal's. I'll try to post a pic.......

Anybody? After the hi beam went out the first time after jumping the diode connector they have not gone out again yet??

What about running it with just the jumper in and no diode?

the diode sounds like the problem. if it was meant to be jumpered, wouldnt they have jumpered it at the factory?

take the part to radioshack, ask them to match the diode, and solder it in, or order a new module. but dont jumper it... good way to start a fire
