Default 97 Silverado

I need to know how to remove the radio and how to replace the license plate bulb on my 1997 Silverado regular cab short bed. Can anybody help me? Thanks.

Reach up behind the bumper and just twist them out.

I'm not sure how to give you a step-by-step on the dash, but I'm working on it.

Thanks. The previous respondent must have stock in Chiltons. Anybody knows that you can buy a book but this website searches for people who are informed and willing to share their knowledge with others. Thank you.

I was thinking the same thing... people come here for help, you shouldn't turn them away saying "buy the book".

in a 97 the trim around the guages and all has to come off its one piece from ac vent to cup holder it just pulls off pull the shifter all the way down to get it out the way but be careful dont let it roll on you set the park brake if you have tilt put it all the way down too it helps be careful when pulling dont break the hazard switch off once you get it out the headlight switch is on that piece you can undo the plug on it or pop the cilps on the sides of and take it off that piece once thats out the way the radio has two clips on its sides just push down on them and pull straight out make sure after you unhook it the antenna wire dosnt fall and short your ac control its expensive

Thanks. I was able to make the radio switch out. I changed from a cassette to the factory CD. I also disonnected the battery so that I would not short out anything. . Thanks again.
