97 Z71 5.7, don't run correctly
Hey Guys,
It was winter time and I had the hood open cleaning snow off, there was a little bit of snow that had fell onto the distributor. The engine warmed up and it melted the snow. I drove it after this for a bit, then it died on me and would not start. I looked under the hood, it had some water on the distributor. It was a week or so before I could look at it. Now when I start it, it will idle fine (misses once in a while). but when I give it fuel it will fall on its face, but if i give it too much fuel it will die. Anything over 2000 RPM, it will die. It can pull itself around but I have to be very careful with the foot feet. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance. O, and the service engine soon light was on, but the battery died before I could hook up a computer to it, now I have been starting it but I can not get the service engine soon light to come back on. Thanks.

Figured out the problem, I replaced the distributor cap and rotor, then it ran good for awhile and then died. Replaced the coil, ran good for awhile, then died. Finally found that the coil wire was arcing and replaced it, runs perfect now.
yeah its funny how wires can just be a little damaged and completely cripple your truck, i had a very small burn mark in one of spark plug wires and man it felt like i was driving a ricer, no power at all, LOL
