We have a 98 Z71, automatic, 350, that wont shift into reverse. all other gears work fine. changed the fluid and filter, didnt expect it to help but thought we would try it anyway. it didnt help. anything else to check or is it time for a rebuild. are there any good sources for factory rebuilts that we can install. appreciate any thoughts on this.

It could be that the linkage is a little loose. Might want to try checking that.
Also, you may have a valve problem or a reverse input clutch problem that can be fixed without a rebuild.
