Default 99 Silverado performance suggestions?

I just bought a 99 silverado 5.3L z71 ext. cab. Of course first thing I did was throw some sort of exhaust on it. Im not getting the power that i'm wanting out of it, and was wanting to get a few suggestions from the people that would know best. The truck is completely stock. The exaust is true dual and it has is stock headers and cats. I've got 3'' pipe running after the cats to two 40 series flow masters that dump just before the rear axel.
I do plan to do an intake upgrade and some sort of chip. I am a huge fan of SLP and the package they provide has the diablo II sport tuner, and SLP brand intake. Are these the best choices? And what other uprades would be worth investing in, if any? If you have any suggestions, or input, it would help greatly.

Thanks in advance

The stock exhaust manifolds are pretty restrictive (as with every stock exhaust component) so headers would be a good idea. Also, a tune would be nice also.

So with that being said, should i just go with long tube headers? Or is that not really the best choice? I like pacesetter, however if there is a better brand suggestion, please let me know.

Long tube headers are definitely the way to go; I've heard good things about Pacesetter, but I would personally recommend Hooker Super Competition Headers. You can usually pick them up for a pretty reasonable price, and they sound downright amazing.

I have a friend who has a 900hp+ drag car, and all he will use is hooker super comps.
