Default !999 sliverado brake caliper question

Does the rear brake caliper pistons have to be screwed or rotated back into the caliper when putting new pads on or are they the same as most others .I heard some calipers are like that . The passenger side was frozen pretty solid and i had to replace the whole caliper as I could not get the piston to unstick or go in enough, It is the newer style 1999.And are the fronts the same ?
thanx Rod

They're the same as most other Calipers. Just push the pistons straight back into the caliper.

What you're referring to is the Akebono-style calipers they used on some Subarus and other imports. The only thing worse than crushing the screw-in style calipers is the insane price of the new ones.
