I have a 99 silverado that the AC won't turn on. The air flow is going through the defrost, no matter where the switch is set too. I've tried everything but taking the whole front dash off. Need some help please.

First, check your fuses. There should be a panel in the drivers side door jam.
If your fuses are good. It could be linkage or levers that open and close the flaps that direct the air flow through the housing to the ducting. They could be broken or jammed. The motors that actuate the levers good be burnt out. You may have an electrical problem with your instrument panel and/or wiring.
