Default automatic headlights won't work

My husband recently replaced the radio in his 2007 chevy silverado with an after market radio and now his automatic headlights won't turn on. His lights still work if he turns them on manually. Any suggestions?

It could be pure coincidence or may be related. When you replace the radio on our trucks (I have a 2007.5 2500HD) you have to also have a replacement computer along with the connector adapters. This is because the factory radio has a sort of control module in it. It controls things like the door ajar ringer, automatic radio shut-off, and also possibly the automatic headlights. I would make sure that he installed one of those and that it is not faulty in any way.

I have had opposite yet similar results when putting an aftermarket stereo system into a Ford F-150. Difference was that all lights (internal and external) turned on and would not shut off. Pull the stereo and double check and make sure it's wired correctly, chance are he connected the constant 12 to the wrong wire, a mistake that is easy to make and just as easy to fix.
