Backfire through throttle body now won't start
I have a 1993 Chevy K1500 with the 5.7l V8. I had it started and was playing with the throttle and the engine backfired through the throttle body and sent a cloud of black smoke out of the throttle body. It won't start now. I have changed spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, ignition coil and ignition controll module and it still won't start. The engine turns fine, but won't fire, even when I spray starter fluid in the throttle body. I am stumped on this and needs answers. I am no mechanic, but can't afford to go to the shop to get this fixed. I am quite handy when it comes to fixing things on a motor, but lack the knowledge to diagnose problems. If anyone could please help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
