I have a 2000 3500 truck with a 7.4 litre. have done complete tune up,yet still runs rich with a miss at idle. runs almost perfect otherwise (but killing whats left of the already poor mpg). I can smell gas from the exaust pipe. the spark is strong &steady on all cylinders. but when I disconnect the wire from #5 there is very little change while its running. therefore I suspect the injector. Any input? If the injector is the culprit how much is involved to change one? anyone had good results with injector cleaner? thanks

 

There is a recal on most chevy injectors and a few distributer. GM routed the AC accumulator line directly over the cap and when running ac the line collected moisture and dripped on the cap shorting and burnin it up.
