I plan to add a second battery to my 2007 Silverado 4x4 (new body style, 145 amp alternator) for running auxiliary devices. When I look at battery isolators, they vary in price from $15 to several hundred dollars. Features of course vary with price, ranging from simple isolation to features like switches that allow you to combine the batteries, jump your main battery from the auxiliary battery, etc. Aside from features, are all basic isolators created equal? Can anyone recommend a good brand, orbrands to stay away from?
