I have a 2001 Silverado 1500 (2WD) with a 4.8 V8. Recently, the red battery "light" has been randomly coming on and off.The battery is just 1 year old, and has been checked to be OK. The battery"gauge"always shows a strong 14+ volt reading, indicating the alternator is charging OK. Any ideas on what might be causing the red battery "light" to randomly come on and off? If so,how do I fix it?

Umm, shakey (loose) ground, maybe? check your ground cable at both ends and make sure its tight.
