Look for a red dust build up around the alternator and the tensioner pulley. Good indicator of which is headed south. A bearing failure in the alternator can cause metalic dust build up and mess with voltage oputput. First indication will be a very faint flickering of the headlights and or dash lights. Watch out for that turning fan when under the hood.
I have an 08 silverado 4x4 I had the same type noise when I was running the truck I could hear it mostly when I decellerated. It ended up being my pigeon bearing, it was covered under warranty thank god and my rear diffs were replaced
as for the original post you can talk and look for dust all you want, pull the belt off and spin each pulley by hand you'll be able to hear and maybe feel the bearing in the bad pulley (if 1 is in fact bad)
