Default bigger lift?

Hey all,

I'm a rookie to the chevy forum page and wanted some advice...

I bought my '01 5.3L ext cab silverado last year from a guy in cali and i LOVE the truck, but as always, i cant leave it alone!
its got a 3" suspension lift and an air lift towing kit for the rear (can lift the rear up to 5") wrapped in BFG 33's on 16" baja rims.

Its onlya 2WD truck, but i want the badass look and ride height of a 6-8" lift. What are your thoughts? am i crazy to do this? or is my wife right not to spend the money... ANY THOUGHTS ARE APPRECIATED!!! thanks

-Joel

Your wife is right not to spend the money. It's rediculous to go any bigger than that considering it is not a 4-wheel drive vehicle.

ya ^^^ what he said......and what is a air bag tow kit, air bags dont make it so you can tow more, they just level out the truck so you dont look illegal and overweight, your still illegal, if you want the badass look go get a 4x4 it will sit almost as high as you are now...go for the badass low rider look, and use your airbags to slam it....

well money really isnt an issue... but im just like the next guy and would like go get the best bang for my buck.

ok, so with that being said, what sould i get? I would want at least a 6", but ive heard good things about pro-comp 7".
but seriously, im just tired of the wheel rub i get from it! my 33's are pretty much stuffed in there. i think there is like maybe an inch between the tire and front fender.
