Default Blower problem

When I turn my air blower up to 5 it shuts or doesn't blow air out of the vents. 1-4 works just fine. Any thoughts? Was thinking a fuse (not sure which to check) or possible a sensor behind the dash or the switch. My truck is an '05 silverado.

Thanks, Rocky

My dad says it may be the switch itself. In order to fix it he says that whole section needs to be replaced. I haven't looked into it lately but will let you know what I find.

Yep its could most likely be a character flaw found on 04-06 Silveraldo's it will lead to a burnt wiring harness on the harness going to the blower resistor meaning it's the harness that's part of the truck not the resistor. Its about a $200 fix just to buy the a new pig tail harness and new resistor from Chevy or you can buy a complete set from eBay seller autopartsdirect2you they sell the complete kit for $60 and its a AC Delco genuine parts too. If you want to be sure your getting the right part get the resistor part number from Chevy to cross reference. The resistor is located under the kick panel cover on the passenger side
