Default Box Removal

Hey,

I'm going to be doing some body repair (rockers/cab corners) on my Dad's 2003 Sierra sometime soon and since I have no experience with trucks, I've got a question about removing the box.

I don't need to remove the box totally to do my work, I just need more room so I was wondering if I can't just loosen the box/electrical cables/fuel neck and push the box back a foot or 2? Will it be able to sit like that?

Any help will be appreciated!

It should, but if you want to play it safe, put a saw horse on the end to support it.
