Default Brake Nightmare

Hello,

I have a 97 Chevy K1500 Ext Cab Short Bed with a 305. I put new brakes on the rear and now the pedal goes to the floor and brake light comes on. I tried pumping them up with the truck running and the pedal just keeps going to the floor and brake light comes on. I pump them up with truck off and pedal gets hard. I took it for a small ride on a flat road and it hardly stops at all and pedal still goes to floor and light comes on. I recently did front brakes and rotors and brakes were fine after that.
I did a ton of work on this truck the last 3 days and I am so frustrated at this point.
Please help... lol
Any ideas ?

Thanks...

Sounds like you need to bleed the line.

If you pushed the pistons back and forced contaminated fluid back thru the system you could have messed up the ABS system. The recommended procedure is to clamp off the lines and open the bleeders when pushing the pistons back. I know many people get by with not doing this but it only takes one $700 bill to instill caution.

Default Got err done

Thanks for the help... I got the brakes working. I removed the fuse for ABS and the possitive battery connection then I bled the rear brakes and they seem to be ok now.

Thanks for the tips guys
