I am looking to get a car alarm/remote starter for my 08 Silverado Crew Cab LS. Any suggestions or brands to stay away from? I was hoping to spend around $200.

 

Product alone will run around $300+ for a halfass decent unit. If you are only going to spend $200, IMO you are wasting your money with something that will only leave you strandedor wind up not working

 

yea i agree i know at work in lake charles for something like that it would be about 450 with interface modules and install

 

They are not that difficult to install if you have the modules for the doors and factory theft alarm system. You can save a lot of money buying online for the materials and maybe find someone who knows how to install.

 

You can go to the dealer and have the factory remote start added to your truck, my friend bought a 2008 LT1 Silverado and had the remote start added for $280 installed.
