Check Engine light questions.
Hey guys, I have a 2005 Silverado 5.3 and Im having some issue's with it.
The check engine light comes on and stay on for about 100 miles. After about 100 miles or so it seems to "reset" and turns off for about 100 miles.
Im broke and don't have money for whatever the light is comming on for. But the issue (till now) hasn't seem to affected the performance or anything that I can detect. No lights go- yellow lights caution,keep in check- and red lights stop the vehicle is the rules I go by.
So that being said, when the engine light comes on, my truck seems to get worse gas mileage than when its off. Does that seem right? Is there something maybe computer wise telling the truck to run different when the light is on vs. off?
I guess its time to finally take it into the shop. This check engine light on and off issue has been going on for about the past 1000 miles.
Any suggestions?
