Default Clutch problems

Hi everyone. I have a 1993 Chevy 1500 Silverado 4x4 with a manual transmission. The problem I have is after work a couple nights ago the clutch pedal felt softer then normal. I didnt think much of it but after a couple miles the truck was acting like the pedal was still in when I shifted. I have the truck home now and when running it will not go into any gear but if I shut the truck off I can put it in gear and move it. I am not sure what would cause this so im trying to get any help possible. Thanks all for taking the time to read this and for any suggestions you may have.

sounds like the pressure plate is done for. that clutch is hydraulic system, so it could need to be bled out. try the bleed out first. a repair manual will give you good step by step instructions.

Thanks a lot guys... I will try changing the slave cylinder and hydraulic line today and see what I come up with. If not it looks like the clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing will be changed saturday

you should take a close look at flywheel too. i've seen a whole lot of new clutches burn up within a month or because the flywheel was not turned or replaced. shops should be able to turn them, or for your rig, a new one ready to bolt on should be less than $50.
