hey guys. so i just got a 94 c1500 single cab short bed v6 5 speed truck. im looking at doing exhaust, air intake, roll pan, lowering kit and hope to find some kinda short shifter for it. its like a big rig with these huge throws lol

well first im curious about if i can use a cold air intake from a v6 s10/blazer. could i make the fitting fit to the throttle body? id make my own piping to fit to it and where i want the filter. thanks for any and all help

You will find already discussed opinions on these subjects.

I'd recommend volant or airaid cold air intake, and as far as exhaust,
It depends on what sounds you're looking for.
Flowmaster 40 series for a nice defined rumble and good volume.
Fliwmaster 10 series for just loud

 

yeah i been searching but i havent found anything about anyone trying and seeing if the throttle body air intake part from a v6s10/blazer will also fit on the throttle body on a v6 fullsize chevy truck

 

The 4.3 litre V-6 in your full size is shared by the S-10.

The engines are identical for the most part...meaning the throttle body is the same.

Just be sure to order an cold air intake for an S-10 that is pre-96 as in 96 GM went to a different hybrid style port injection.

You may have to mess with the tubes a bit,but the engine bay is so huge it shouldn't be an issue.

could you perhaps help with info on a short throw shifter for the 5 speed? i bought a used one and installed it on my s10 and it was alot nicer. my honda also had a short throw and man i really would like one on this fullsize truck. kinda feels like a big rig lol. thanks guys

 

so what trans can i replace mine wit. i need to change all gaskets on it. its leaking from front and real seals and on top where the gear shift level bolts to the trans. plus who knows how miles was on this. truck say 348K and every liquid ive drained out has been pure black including low trans fluid. but what im asking about is what all trans can i just replace it with? also to boot id prefer a trans i can install a quick shift. i cant seem to find one for the trans in it now and its like shifting a big rig. huge throws lol.
