Default Cold Air Intake question

I have a '98 GMC K2500 5.7 and I am looking at adding a cold air intake.

There are a ton out there, what are you preferences on these??
AEM....K&N...Airaid etc.........Anyone have a experience with one and how much performance do you really pick up with one of these...Are they worth the money??

Volant or airaid.

there are several things you can look at such as CFM, how well it fits in place,
heat shields etc etc.

I like the look of Volant the best plus it can handle more CFM than the truck requires,
same with airaid.

then go out and get yourself either a K&N or Spectre filter and a CAI cleaning/oiling kit

Have a 2001 Silverado 5.3 4x4 6"" lift on 33 tires, put a K&N Cold Air and a single to dual exhaust and went from 10 mpg to 14. So in my case the combo worked for me. Also live in California and had to make sure intake was CARB legal for smog checks. I like the K&N for quality but you also pay for it.
