Converting a 1990 silverado from V8 to V6
Hello Everyone,
I have a 1990 5.7 Silverado that I would like to convert to a V6.
What all will I need to accomplish this and roughly how much will it cost me? Am I able to just drop a V6 in or will I have other things on the vehichle that I will need to change for it to operate properly? I love the body of my truck but with gas prices I need something that will be more gas effecient. I would hate to have to get rid of my truck. Please help.
Thanks

I think thats the wrong way to go, 8 to 6 will be working harder. I get the same mpg in my 97 v8 burban that i get in my 03 v6 blazer. My daughters 2010 v8 pu gets much better mpg than my 97. I'd look for a much newer engine from a rear wrecked truck that does get better mpg.
