thanks for your response , I have included your recommendations to the OTHER mechanics I have contacted. got a quote from a Jasper Certified shop and they want $ 5300 to replace motor ( $ 3200 ) and 16 hours of labor ( $ 2100 ) ....... better than the $ 6300 my mechanic wanted. Also reached out to my old mechanic ( 50 miles away ) and am awaiting his response. he called and mentioned that a good shop -- needs to spend 2 hours diagnostic time to figure out problem..... he also is getting back to me with numbers ---
