I have a 2005 chevy silverado and it is crabbing when I turn in 4wd. It also makes a loud clunking noice when it shifts into 2wd. Does anyone know what could be wrong with it?

 

i am pretty sure they all will do it mine does 2001 hd ,my 61 gmc will ,78 3/4 would ,it's the nature of the steering and the front shaft's driving in 4x4 now . as to clunking going into 2wd ? try to let up on the gas when you shift into 2wd from 4x4and vise versa .

 

HHmmmm, mine never crabsl. What exactly happened before you experienced the crabbing. Any crunching etc??
