While driving down a two lane rural highway, an 18 wheeler passed passed in the opposite direction. When the wind blast hit my truck, I heard a couple of faint but unmistakeable clink-tinks like a wire or something hitting the underside of the engine. Immediately my cruise control disengaged and will not re-engage, despite the light being on. I drove from AZ to OH and now OH to CA without cruise control. It sucks.

In searching the Internet, seems 08s have a similar problem (light but no cc) but I can't find anything on earlier years. For 08s, replacing the brake light controller fixes it but that was a problem with the part itself.

Any thoughts on my situation, given that occurred as a result of being hit by the wind blast of an 18 wheeler?
