Dealers and Service bulletins 2012 5.3 Silverado #04-06-04-001C
I found a service bulletin #04-06-04-001C which describes a lot of what my 2012 Silverado is doing. In the past is has given me oil pressure warnings when it was not a problem. Also had air bag warnings the come and go. Recently had P04052 code evap or fuel pressure sensor, with P0641 code which could be ecm or other things. Now the P04052 code is gone and I have P0106, P0107, P0522 low oil pressure, and P0641. I called my local dealer about the #04-06-04-001C service bulletin and he said only after correct diagnosis would they repair the service bulletin issue if the diagnosis is correct? They will be charging me $145/hr to diagnosis? I want to know from chevy rep or anyone that knows is this correct procedure on service bulletins? I thought if there was a service bulletin dealer had to fix it for free?? Any answers appreciated.
Thanks
Fred.
P.S. once the truck warms up the dash starts lighting up with error lights including stabiltrak and eventually reduces power and then stops.
Thanks

service bulletins are not recalls. if you want a tsb performed on your car and you are off warranty...you are paying.
if you request a dealer to perform a bulletin...and no diagnosis...they will do it. If it fixes the problem, great, If not...you still pay and are on your own.

Without going to a dealer is there a way to determine if these codes are caused by bad sensors or the ECM? First I was seeing a fuel pressure sensor code, that one doesn't come up and now I get different ones. I really don't want to just throw and ECM on it. But it seems like the easiest option at this point.??
Thanks for ANY help. Reason I'm asking this is I don't have the $$ to pay for all the diagnosis.

I've cleared these codes by disconnecting pos and neg battery cables. Let truck sit until engine is cold. Codes will all clear out with my code reader after startup. One engine reaches operating temp they start coming back. Is that just the time it takes to cycle through everything or is it directly related to the engine temp? If engine temp does that point at anything in particular. I was worried about a bad wire(hard to find), but my reasoning is that it would code right away? or not?

p0641 sets when there is an abnormal voltage on the 5v reference circuit. the 5 volts circuit effect the maf (p0106, p0107) engine oil pressure p0522.
Check the 5 volt reference circuit for a short to power or grd.
