Default disenaging 4wd?

Gf went out last night, someone engaged the 4wheel drive manually.. how she dont know how to disengage it i. im guessing they just manually pushed in the actuator on the front axle

its a 02 chevy 1500 lever shift.

so how do i get this back into 2?

it is as simple as manually moving the t-case motor to a different position?

im kinda pissed at the situation but can someone share some light!

If the truck has a floor mounted shift and its in 4Hi just sart the truck and drive about 5mph and push shifter one notch forward. If its in 4Lo just put truck in nuetral with engine off and pull back on shifter to tne 2Hi psition. It can also be moved when in park but you need to remove any pressure or resistance on the drive line. If this an electronic shift just pushing the 2Hi button with engine on.To move from 4Lo to 2 or 4Hi put truck in nuetral and push shifter on dash.
sometime moving about 5mph in nuetral when shifting helps
