I have a 2004 Silverado. The other day I was trying ti install a trailer brake control. I was using the factory harness that came with the truck. I didn't bother to disconnect the battery. After plugging the harness in I was fishing the wires over to the controller. Yep ZAP! all seemed good except the door lock doesn't work when the door is open, closed it seems to work correctly. Any ideas?

 

Check all of your fuses first, hopefully the circuit was protected by a fuse that is accessible...

I would visit the area you were fishing the wires through to make sure nothing was chaffed, cut and or shorted...

The other possibility is that since you hot switched the connection/harness you shorted out something in the BCM...
