I don't know about anybody else, but I didn't buy my 2500HD for speed.

Take your vehicle, crank up the air, crank up the tunes.(Yeah, good separation is when your cornea separates from your retina with the volume at 26...) Then put 5 other people in the cab. Then forklift 2 full pallets of salt into the bed, and meet me 25 miles up the road at the bar for a drink, and we'll talk about comparisons.

In all honesty, I hope if you're building something fast, your goal is a little loftier than outrunning a 2500HD...

My truck is stock. I thought about getting a superchip for it. But i never did because of how hard i heard it makes the truck shift. Im thinking low 16s on a 1/4 mile track.

Hey JR2500H.D,

A belated welcome to the Chevy Forums.

While the 6.0L Vortec and 410 gears are going to give you a respectable ET on the quarter, you have to bear in mind that this isn't what a 2500HD was designed to do. Be logical, it's not going to ever be a legendary track vehicle. Many of the very things(comfortable vehicle interior, weight,HD transmission, suspension) which you so highly prize in a vehicle of this class are working against you.

You have to see all the things which bracket racers can't do at all. Really fast cars don't have A/C, comfortable seats, good audio systems, decent road suspensions, decent road tires, as well as other things.(like in some cases, window glass) They're miserable in traffic, and awful on long road trips.

We're not even going to elaborate how basically useless these vehicles are to haul cargo.

The Silverado 2500 is a badass truck with out speed.I came to realize that there's always going to be a FASTER vehicle out there somewhere. But nothings as dependable, comfortable, and versatile as my 2500HD.

I agree our 2500H.Ds are made for hauling. I like drag racing so I was just trying to get some opions on how fast it might run. But I should know the answer to that in about 2 weeks.
