Driver Information Center

RE: Driver Information Center
I just got my panel in today, it came with detailed instructions. The only tools you'll need are a 10mm socket and a flat headed screwdriver. I was a little weary of doing the install myself but i knew the dealer would have probably charged $50-$100 to install it just because they can. It only took me 20 minutes, could have been faster but I was a little timid about pulling the panels off, they do require a little elbow grease to come off, just pull. You have to take the fuse cover off, unscrew the parking brake release (10mm bolt), and remove the knee board pannel (under the steering wheel, 2 philips head screws), then just pop off your old pannel where the new DIC panel will go with the flat head screwdriver. The plug that will go to the DIC buttons is behind the old pannel. Swap the light **** and plug in the DIC wire, put it all back together and you're good to go. Im happy I did it, and now I have the remote start kit ordered and i'll have it installed next friday.

RE: Driver Information Center
The plug should be there for all 07 and 08 new body styles. If you want you can take a look at my Instructable earlier in this thread. It details what needs to be done and it also does not require you to remove the brake cable, although there is nothing wrong with doing that.

I couldnt justify spending more than the part is worth to get it installed. Thats rediculous. I'm glad I did it myself. I'll scan a copy of the directions that came with mine if anyone needs it.

RE: Driver Information Center
Especially for how easy the install actually is. Now I just wish the parts to add navigation was as cheap as the DIC buttons.
