I recently inquired about getting dual exhaust on my 2011 silverado. The guy I called was nice enough to mention that he has had people come back in saying their truck sounds horrible when the 4 cylinders shut off. Does anyone have dual exhaust that has the fuel management system or has anyone heard of this?

 

my dad has a 08 vmax and it DID the 8-4 cylinder shut off deal...in his truck the dual exhaust didn't shut off the switch. he has true dual glasspacks but hate havin to replace the donut gasket in the pipin from the shuttin off to 4 cylinders. he ended up Gavin to get it tuned to get it shut off and now it's all 8 cylinders firin all the time

 

i was gonna put tru dual straight pipes no mufflers on my 2011 silverado with 4 inch tips an 45 angle it out the back how bad would it sound since it swaps to 4 cylinders

 

It actually kinda sounds like a diesal. I cut the muffler off mine and put a y pipe in place 3 inch pipe. It sounds good. Not very loud but has a nice tone to it. But if your gonna do that and want it to be loud put 2 1/4 inch pipe and it will sound awesome
