Default Dually Brake Replacement Advice

I have a 2003 CC Dually with 57,000 miles. I tow a 35' 5th wheel about 8 x a year, otherwise the truck is used as a daily driver with no load. Appreciate advice on:

* what is "normal" for brake replacement mileage, if any?
* Are the brakes on a dually different ormore expensive than non dually Heavy Duties?
* The dealer wants $1200 for the brake job and wheel bearing repack. Is this excessive? Do you recommend Meineke or other no Chevrolet sources?
* Any recommendations for a brake upgrade (i.e. Brembo, others)?

Thanks for any advice, suggestions.

If it were my truck, I'd do it myself.I don't know how much experience you have on this type of repair , but there are allot of resources that you can use to help you do it yourself. If you have more money that time (unlike myself) then take it somewhere, and have it done. Otherwise take on the task, learn something new and have the pride that you did it yourself!! Brakes are not something you should fudge on they have to be right or it could cost you allot more then 1200 bucks (like someone's life or maybe your own), so make sure if you do it you follow the steps carefully!
