I have a 2005 4.3 chevy silverado reg. cab my ecu is burned out....I want to get one from a junkyard but some guy said you had to get it programed for my truck is it true?

 

I have heard of them needing to be reprogrammed . I think you need to send in your VIN # and specs on your truck to get it programmed. good luck!

 

I would just call a company that reprograms cpu's and they will send you a new one and you just have to pay for the reprograming and core charge which you wont get back because you cant send yours back.
I went and had Charlie Wheatley do mine.
